“Not all those who wander are lost.”J.R.R. Tolkien
Hi, hello there,
Yes, I know I’m bad, it’s been two weeks since we last spoke, I’m sorry!! I know I said it would only be a week between posts, but what can I say, life got a hold of me, and I was unable to sit down and chat with you all.
WE WENT TO THE BEACH – what can I say, Pixel and I are predictable. This time, we went to a beach we haven’t been to before. What can I say, it was soooo needed this fortnight, just to be able to watch the smile on Pixels face and watch her have the best time, digging in the sand, running in the water, dodging the waves as they rushed the shore, and just enjoy being a dog. I took her older sister with us as well – Honey, who is 8 years old, became a young dog again, she absolutely loves the beach as well – between her and Pixel, both dogs were absolutely tuckered out as I drove home that afternoon. I must admit – just between you and I, I was exhausted too! Sooo worth it though.
Whilst exploring a new area with both dogs, I came across the BEST burger/fish and chip shop ever!! I can honestly say I have never had such an AMAZING chicken burger – I have been dreaming of returning to this shop just for the burger over the past 10 days! You know it was a good burger when all you can think about is going and getting another one multiple times a week.
What been going on in the last two weeks you ask.. Well, that’s a long story – The short of it is, I don’t know. Between beach trips with Pixel, working long hours, sleeping to catch up on all the sleep you miss working shift work, spending time with family and more… I guess time just gets away from you.
Do you find that as the years go past, they get quicker and shorter – When I was at school, the years DRAGGED, christmas, and birthdays would never come quick enough, they were always so far away. As a child there was so much time to do things, go different places, hours to spend outside playing. Now, as an adult, I feel like I don’t even have time to spend the quality time with friends and family, go on the adventures that I would like to, or see the things I want to see.
So much focus is put on having a career and working to save for retirement, that you forget about the journey to get to that stage. It’s the small things throughout life that make it worth living. The amazing food you can try when you step out of your comfort zone and do a little exploring in your area, the hidden water holes and picnic areas that are there to be found. This is why I have decided to slow down, take a step back and reevaluate my life – career wise, hobby wise and health wise.
It’s time to take back my life, go out and do the exploring I want to do, eat at the cafes, slow down on the amount of shifts I do at the hospital, enjoy every moment, get healthy and build long lasting lifetime friendships!
When I started this blog, I did say that I would make it about the adventures that Pixel and I go on, well here are some photos that were taken from our most recent beach trip.
Next post I will be talking all about the vaccination regime that I have to go through for Pixel to travel overseas with me, and when I’ll be starting that process.
I look forward to talking to you all again, very soon!
